Linus – Week Two

You’re thinking, “Week two? It’s almost week three!” That’s true, but we’ve had our hands pretty full and that doesn’t leave much time for frivolous pursuits like blogging. But still, we must please the masses. So here are your Week Two photos.

Yen has turned out to have the magic touch when it comes to soothing Linus. When he’s got a full stomach, clean pants, and has had a nice satisfying burp but is still crying, Yen is always able to calm him down.

Not that he requires a lot of calming. He’s still a very relaxed little guy, and is spending more time this week just looking around, taking everything in. A couple of times he’s even seemed to give us real smiles, though I know it’s probably still gas. At least he smiles a lot in his sleep!

Sleep is still going fairly well. Like his dad, Linus prefers to stay up late and doesn’t want to head to bed until after midnight. But once he does fall asleep, he’s pretty good about staying there.

Grandma is visiting for a week. I think she approves of Linus.

See? Doesn’t that seem like a smile? Purely accidental, I’m sure. But I just love it.

We celebrated Linus’s second week by taking him for his first hike. This was at a place nearby called the Burlington Landlocked Forest. It’s really designed for mountain bikes, but we like to hike it anyway. I don’t think Linus had any clue we were hiking. He slept through the entire thing.

At his check-up, we found that he’s gained a whole pound in the last week – he’s up to 8 now! He’s in the 50th percentile for height, but only the 25th for weight and head circumference.
