Jenny and I went home for Halloween and for Dad's 50th birthday.

Here's the birthday boy in his natural environment—that's his newspaper readin' chair. What you can't see is that there's a huge pot of coffee brewing.
Go back to Canadaland, geese! What I like about this picture is the "open" sign in the background. This was at Moraine View, which is very famous as the place where I took a lovely swan dive while blading with fonix once upon a time.
The water was cold and clear.
Merely an island in the middle of the pond.
Jenny and Dad.
I stopped in a restroom and found this cryptic message 'bout love.
I guess they were nervous because of this example.
And this, friends and well-wishers, is a live bait machine. What I want to know is who those little guys are kept alive in there while they wait to be, um, bait.
David playing his french horn.
Jenny's all ready to go.
Mom really hates having her picture taken.
David about to strike me with his french horn.
Carly!
The bug on the left is an asian ladybug of some sort. The source of much irritation 'round the James house. David believes the government releases them. Dad swears they're cannibals and try to eat him. It's a mystery to me.
We have to amuse ourselves on road trips.
My parents have a huge, awesome tree in their front yard.
Jenny was born to be wild.
They're off! Off!
Out of order—this is right before take-off.
Me 'n' David.
Once we arrived in Champaign, David roamed the streets.
Fonix! It's Jimmy John's! Behind Jenny Johns!
Here we are right before trick-or-treating.
Jenny and David mangled a pumpkin.
And David drew plans for a heinous face.
David hates shopping so much.
Rockstar cola! Party like a rockstar!
Oh, Schnucks. I miss you and your produce selection so much.
And here's Jenny's old house in Champaign.
