Linus – Week 12
This week’s theme is: tummy time! Linus’s neck has gotten crazy strong. You might remember a couple of weeks ago I predicted he would roll over any moment. It hasn’t happened yet, and I think it’s because he’s been putting all of his energy into getting his head up high instead. Which is fine with me – he’s not mobile yet this way.
Have I told you that Linus always smiles as he falls asleep? Every single time. Nap, bedtime, whatever – always smiles as he’s drifting off. Yen managed to capture it in photo and video!
Poor little guy. His cheeks must be sore at the end of the day from all of the kisses we give him.
I came home one day this week and Yen was busy, so I strapped on the bjorn. Of course I had to adjust it like crazy to fit me, but I managed it. What a workout! We estimate he’s close to 12 pounds by now. I guess this is why Yen keeps losing weight even though he can’t find time to go to the gym anymore.
I’m clearly a different ride than Yen, because he fell asleep immediately instead of looking all around as he does when Yen drives.
He really loves reading books now. I’m guessing it’s the pictures he likes, but he definitely sits and pays attention.
What a charmer! He’s such a friendly baby. I know there will come a phase when he learns the concept of a stranger and he’ll be more suspicious, but right now he greets everyone he sees with a huge, open smile.
Here’s Linus with ba hai. She came to visit from Las Vegas for a few days. Linus thinks she’s hilarious – she can get him to laugh! I still haven’t heard it yet, unfortunately.
I guess this is a developmental milestone: Linus is very interested in his hands. Even when he’s not studying them, he keeps his fingers laced together in a very professorial pose.
Here’s Linus monitoring while Yen clips his fingernails.
We have this little mirror to help out with tummy time. Sometimes he seems interested in the other baby, and sometimes he doesn’t seem to notice him.
This is the little bear suit he wears when it’s particularly cold out – because not going for a walk isn’t an option!
Speaking of walking: for our weekend ramble, we went to a little forest that’s right in the middle of Lexington. In fact midway through the walk, we were able to pop out onto a street and go say hello to Tan, Susie, and Ruby.
Here are the guys sleeping in on Sunday morning. They were all tuckered out.
