Linus Videos

I’ve been taking a few videos of Linus here and there, but generally don’t bother to upload them. Right now Linus is quietly napping with Yen, so I’ve got a few minutes of peace. I should be sleeping, but I’m giving you this instead.

First up, the aforementioned nap. Every morning (unless it’s raining or Yen has a meeting), we start the day out with a walk around our neighborhood. Linus rides in the Baby Bjorn on Yen’s chest, and is usually asleep before we’re out of the driveway. He’s been staying awake more and more, and then he watches the sky or stares at us in turn. When he does fall asleep, Yen tries to keep him asleep after we get home, and lays him down somewhere still in the bottom half of the Bjorn. Today he laid him on the couch, and then knelt down to watch him sleep… and ended up falling asleep himself. I naturally snatched photos and this video.

It’s too bad that babies are safest sleeping on their backs, because he always seems so happy when he happens to fall asleep on his side or tummy. Don’t worry: we only let him stay that way if one of us is awake and watching.

Next up, Yen has found a way to combine exercise with soothing Linus to sleep.

Sorry this next one is so dark. I was sitting at the kitchen island eating lunch, when Yen came in with Linus. I decided to capture them on video. Nothing terribly exciting, just a little moment out of the day.

It’s so strange to watch this video now, which was taken about two weeks ago. His little chicken arms are so cute! He’s already filled out a lot more, and has more control over his little neck. I can’t believe how fast he’s changing.

This last one is sort of a behind-the-scenes look at Yen’s commitment to getting the best possible photo every time. Just like I mentioned above, we’ve come in from a walk, and Linus is totally sacked out – you can see him completely rag-dolling over the side of the Bjorn. Yen wanted to capture the view.
