Ipswich River (again)

I’m basically haunting the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. Took several new trails yesterday and basically did a big loop around the whole thing. Lots of wood ducks, red squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus, not to be confused with Sciurus vulgaris, which ain’t around here), chipmunks (one chewed me out for looking at him too long), several deer sticking their noses through the experimental deer exclosure, and of course the requisite chickadees.

I also found the observation tower and climbed up, but I guess it was cold enough that all I could see where a few red-winged blackbirds hanging out in the brush, drinking water.

Oh, here’s one of the aforementioned. I like these guys.
