Yen has been collecting random photos over the last few weeks. None has really been enough for a post on its own, so we’ve put together a post on these random excursions.
The first excursion was to IKEA (not pictured). Yen and I have become pros at getting in and out of IKEA quickly, and with the least possible drama. But just the same, any visit there leaves you hungry. So when we went with our friends Tan, Susie, and Ruby (or as we call her to distinguish her from other Rubies we might know, “Little Ruby”), we decided to cap the afternoon off with a late lunch of hot pot. As you’re going to see, Ruby is a big fan of that particular style of eating.
Despite being terrifyingly close to a big pot of boiling broth, Ruby got right in on the action of adding her favorites to the pot. She added so many things, in fact, that her broth wouldn’t boil. That’s ok. Our broth had room to spare.
It looks here as if she’s making a move toward Tan’s Diet Coke. I don’t think he’s going to allow it.
She loved the corn, which I always find the most strange moment of any hot pot dinner. I guess you’re supposed to pick it up as she did here? Yen always delicately, elegantly manages to eat his using chopsticks. I think he only does it to show off.
Here you can see what the full spread looked like before we really got started cooking. Delicious!
A few days later, we went back to our old usual, Battle Road in Concord. Not a lot of pictures of this walk, as we got there pretty late.
But we did see this very good looking hawk, who seemed happy that they’d mowed recently.
The following weekend, I wasn’t feeling terribly well, but we decided a short, easy walk would do me some good. We decided to visit good ol’ Broadmoor.
Yen was really fascinated by the water, as you can see.
