PEI to Halifax

We packed up this morning and drove through a bit more of PEI before heading on our way. The main stop en route involved a hike (see the previous post for the meat of this stop).

Here’s Tanya enjoying the wild roses.

Tons of wild lupines all over the island.

Here’s Tanya again, thoroughly on vacation.

Area around the Dune Trail in PEI National Park. We wanted to take the boardwalk around the lake, but it’s closed (fermé!).

This is just after we crossed the Confederation Bridge, leaving behind PEI and $42.50. That’s forty-two dollars and fifty cents. And right now the CA$ is slightly higher than US. That cheesy smile on my face may be a lingering grimace.

Here’s the view from right under the bridge. It’s 8.5 miles long.

There’s a little trail under the NS side of the bridge. We walked about a half mile and got to see this porcupine. I’m pretty sure we’ve seen enough animals today that we won’t get to see any others the rest of the trip.
