Sidney Rodeo et al.

I had a free ticket I needed to use up by October 1, so I figured I’d sneak home to attend a rodeo with David.

I was still on eastern time, of course, so I hopped out of bed first thing Friday morning and had a walk. This is right down the street from the ‘rents house. Isn’t the light nice?

And here’s more from the walk. Those are beans, you silly city folk.

I even caught the sun coming up.

Then we took off. David and I handled the responsiblities of the back seat.

Before the rodeo, we wandered around checking out the stars.

Doesn’t he have a sweet face?

The bucking broncos were the best part.

Check out the duds on the kid on the right? He’s so ready for the show! I’m not going to lie to you. I ate a funnel cake.

I almost took a turn on the mechanical bull.

I tried to take photos of the action, but as you can see, it didn’t work. I resorted to videos from my little 2.1 megapixel camera. I’ll put those up when I have a chance.

David and Mom had a good time, I think.

This guy was riding a bull!

We ventured out to my grandparents’ pond to check out the frogs. There were a ton of them, and they were so tiny!

And we walked a bit at Waubonsee Park, along the Loess Hills.

I think David was pretty tired by then.
