Shaker Village

The weather was too nice for indoor activities yesterday, so we headed up 93 to the Canterbury Shaker Village. There’s a little restaurant up there now with very tasty, simple food, and they’ve just opened an exhibit on Shakers in the 20th century that was very well done. The grounds themselves are so peaceful and well kept that it’s worth a trip just for some quiet.

As you’ll see, I really liked the siding on this building.

I was surprised by how colorful the buildings here: Yellow, lilac, reds.

And of course, nice straight lines everywhere.

I admit these aren’t the most exciting photos in the world. But we like what we like.

Old barns are infinitely photographable.

Even when there was no color, the buildings were crisp and well kept.
