Hampton Beach

We had a really solid Mother’s Day plan. We would drive up to southern New Hampshire and visit Fuller Gardens, which we are always hearing advertised on NPR, and which Yen knows from his strange knowledge of the history of Boston’s auto sales industry (really). Then we would drive on to Lowell and hit Pho 88, home of our absolute favorite giant bowls of bún.

Only Fuller Gardens were closed. As we stopped to examine the very unhelpful sign out front, several other cars stopped and drivers squinted in confusion. Now what?

Well, we drove down the block to the beach.

Yen’s mom doesn’t normally allow us to take photos of her, so this is a very special photo of her with me and Thanh Nga.
