Linus is always ready for his close-up!
Co ba gave Mina a kazoo. We are still speaking to her – barely.
I’m kidding, of course. Actually I was really proud of how quickly Mina figured out how to use it!
It was Linus’s birthday week. Speaking of Co Ba, she wasn’t able to attend his party, so she brought over his presents a little early. He and Mina both love this book.
Mina’s favorite animal game: stand all of the animals up as if they’ve assembled to hear her give a proclamation. Then her hand flicks out and knocks ’em all over. She’s not always a benevolent ruler.
Any animals hiding in there?
This little monkey keeps climbing the outside of the staircase. I’m just so grateful the wall interrupts at about the 5-foot mark.
Linus’s birthday party. All of the kids got together with Co Betty to watch Shaun the Sheep.
Then there was cake! I wasn’t sure how Linus would handle being the center of attention, especially when we all sang to him. He actually loved it. He got a big delighted smile. I wish we’d thought to take a video!
In case you’re wondering, it’s a chocolate peanut butter icebox cake. It took some effort the night before, but the rave reviews were worth it.
Linus knew in theory how to blow the candles out, but I helped a bit.
And then he tucked in!
Presents afterward. It doesn’t matter how sternly the invitation says “no gifts!” He still makes out like a bandit.
We bought a new car! It comes pre-installed with a Mina.
In case you’re curious it’s a Bolt. That’s the little all-electric Chevy. We simply love it. No more gas!
Back at the Museum of Science. You get to go anywhere on your birthday week!
Another gift from Co Ba. He really loves this one.
I think Mina might have an idea of how cute she is. She poses like this from time to time, and when we get annoyed with her, she really turns on those huge eyes.
Hanging out on the deck. That spray bottle means he’s up to no good!
Holding on for safety in the elevator.
And… back at the Museum of Science! Mina is starting to interact more with the exhibits. She used to just kind of wander around, but now she plays just like the big kids.
Sometimes even a little more!
This was another date with Linus’s friend Ilse.
