Up in Townsend MA there’s a nice state park, Willard Brook. Yen and I had each been there before but had abbreviated little walks and decided to go again together—and this time have a proper walk.
The Friends Trail is pretty new and I believe the ranger told us it would take nine hours to complete the whole thing. We opted for a smaller loop, and it was a really nice little ramble over fairly varied terrain. It would be a good one to try again in the spring.
Oh, and the bonus? A nice waterfall across the road, Trap Falls, means Yen has another added to his growing list (he’s trying to photograph all of the (good) waterfalls in MA).
