Linus – Week 49

Week 49 already?! Linus is growing too fast. Can’t we freeze him?

We got him a couple of different sized balls to learn to kick and toss. He’s getting quite good at it, actually. Especially the tossing.

He is so very fast climbing the stairs now! When you follow him, you really don’t have to slow down at all.

Every morning Linus and Ba Noi start their day with a little playing outside. He bi bos his tricycle, and they also walk around on the street a little.

He’s getting quite good at walking in shoes now.

Silly baby. Sometimes he just tosses his animals over the side.

And then is very sorry and wonders how to get them back.

This weekend was my company outing to New Hampshire. Here’s Linus stretching his legs at a rest stop/welcome center.

He loved the moose! It was a giant stuffed animal, actually – not a taxidermied “real” moose.

They also had a huge toy bear. Unfortunately it was near a water fountain, so Linus was a little distracted.

He justwould not stop playing with the seal of New Hampshire!

The weather wasn’t very good for hiking, so we decided to check out the scenic railroad.

Conway Scenic Railroad

Look who else was visiting!

The line to take a ride on Thomas’s train was more than an hour long. We figured that once you’re on the train, who cares who’s pulling it? So we hopped on a regular old train. Linus enjoyed it very much.

Even a regular old engine is neat. I don’t think Linus was too sad that it wasn’t Thomas’s train.

And Percy was there too when we got back!

After the railroad, we headed over to the children’s museum. Poor Linus tripped in the parking lot, which is why you’ll see a small cut on his nose. Don’t worry: it’s nearly healed already.

Of course there were more trains at the museum, including a model that runs around and around near the ceiling.

And Thomas again, of course.

The museum had a bunch of costumes hanging on the wall. Yen stepped away to use the restroom, so I grabbed the first costume I could find and put Linus in it as a surprise. Our little Leo makes a very good lion.

He checked out the baby as practice for when Little Sister gets here.

I couldn’t help it: I also dressed him as a dragon.

We had such high hopes for hiking all weekend, but the weather just refused to cooperate. Here’s Linus looking out at our deck and all of the rain.

Here he is lounging around Sunday morning. Pants optional.

Linus thought the luggage carts were the best bi bo ever.

We had to attend a big dinner Saturday night at the Omni Mt Washington. Linus loved their big veranda.

And the stairs. I heard one of my coworkers laughing as Linus ran toward them, “Those are the best baby stairs ever. No baby can resist.”

Linus’s exploration took him to all of the nooks and crannies of the place. At one point I even found him dismantling a spotlight.

We tried to take a nice picture. Oh well. The look on his face is funnier than any smile.

Linus had his first bus ride from our (much less fancy) hotel to the Omni.

Back at home, Linus checked out our landscaping in comparison to the fancy stuff at the hotel. I think he approved.

He and Ba Noi tested out Mommy’s car.

Linus rings the bell on command now – especially if you ask him in Vietnamese!

Here’s Cha trying to keep Linus occupied so I can eat lunch at a terrific Thai restaurant.
