Linus – Weeks 38 through 40
How can this little boy be so big already?
I almost seems as if we can see the difference in him day by day. This photo is just two weeks old, but already those pants are too short for him!
Linus still loves reading as much as ever, but he’s getting more picky about his literature. Here he’s reading his zoo book with Ba Noi, still a favorite. More and more he wants the little stories, and not just the books with flaps and things to pull. He still loves hearing animal noises, of course.
Silly baby! Here he is out on a hike, peeking out from behind a tree. He doesn’t fit in this carrier any longer!
Linus sleeps through the night (8:30 to 5:30) almost every night! I hear him start to talk, and I go in to change him out of his pajamas and feed him. Then I bring him in to Yen, and they cuddle up together for an hour or so before the day starts. I think it’s the favorite time of day for both of them.
I keep thinking that it’s time to go through his toy box and take out some of the older toys. But he likes to dig through it and rediscover items from time to time.
Our little man is always up for an adventure. He’s starting to make the connections between things. For instance, when he sees Yen getting the bike ready, he knows what’s coming next and gets very excited. He also gets every upset when the ride is over and he sees the bike going away. Most evenings now we bike instead of walking because he loves it so much.
In these photos I’m tickling the heck out of him.
I love the quizzical expression here. He’s got a very expressive face!
A little hacking in his spare time…
Don’t you just love these pants? He’s moved into his summer wardrobe now, and looks like such a little boy.
Whenever he sits, he crosses his ankles. Every once in a while he’ll even uncross them and recross the other on top. He’s such a gentlebaby.
His favorite game right now is one Yen and Ba Noi call “bi bo” (it’s the sound of a siren). Linus pushes his cart all over the house in this game. You’ll see more in a bit. Here I think maybe the cart had to go into the garage for some work.
I’m not sure who he’s looking at here. Judging by the look on his face, I’d guess Ba Noi!
No, he hasn’t started sucking his thumb. This was a one-time event. But so cute!
Our trees finally bloomed, so Linus and I went outside to check them out. “Be gentle with the flowers!’
Doesn’t he look like he’s swooned? Naw, he’s just collapsed into a random nap on the floor of his bedroom.
We’ve been stowing him in the driver’s seat when we need to load up the car. He loves all of the knobs to turn and things to pull!
I love the stern concentration on his face here. There’s something mechanical and “I’ve got to figure this out!” about it. Also, note the astronaut pants!
Here are Yen and Cha on a hike, checking out the little sprouts of green finally poking through.
Nothing like a good book!
You’ll note that his hair is getting a little out of control. No wonder people always think he’s a girl!
I love this next series. Linus is really into eating oranges right now, never mind the mess.
I don’t even know what’s happening here.
And then… I guess he flosses?
Look at all these teeth! He’s got six now: two on the bottom and four on top.
Here he is playing bi bo.
This funny little move! Whenever he wants to throw something, he kind of flings it by flipping his hands.
Yen changed his diaper in the bathroom one day, and then let him roam free for a bit. I love that little tush!
This soulful photo will surely be the cover of his first album.
Linus had his first watermelon last weekend. We were surprised by how unimpressed he was!
Shorts! Too cute.
Last up, a couple of videos for you. First, here’s Linus climbing stairs. It’s terrifying, but I suppose it’s best if he learns early how to do it.
And then here is this adorable little move he does when he’s on Yen’s shoulders, peering around to get a look at him. Note that he finally got a haircut! What an absolute nightmare that was…
